The end of the year has a way of bringing many feelings; fear and excitement for what’s to come, celebration and regret for what’s behind us. It can be easy this time of year to worry about what you didn’t do in the months before or about what you’ll have the courage to do in the months to follow. This is normal, but try not to go there because it’s never too late to take the first step toward something you desire. Change—and progress—can happen at any moment as you’ll see from our podcast guest this week and the stories we’ve assembled. Focus on the excitement, not the calendar dates, and just keep following your jump.

Shortly after I turned 24, my finance career came to an early end. Exactly one year after starting as a private equity associate in Boston, I made the decision to move to Denver and pursue a more risky route in the mental health space, bringing meditation to corporations and schools. I believe one of the reasons WTJ is so effective is that it gives social validity to a decision that goes against cultural norms. Conventional wisdom, the topic I’ve written about here, prevents many individuals from pursuing their dreams and aspirations. When the paycheck is no longer enough, and the little voice in your head just won’t quit, we are here. Welcome to our crew of jumpers, dreamers, and individuals determined to live their lives well. A cushy job and playing it safe isn’t what we’re striving towards. We’re looking for leaps and bounds, and the souls that refuse to settle.
