Make the next few weeks, the next few months, and the next year be the time in which you start fighting for the life you want. Shouts out to…
Shouts out to Monique from Queensland, Australia whose first jump took place 19 years ago when she grew tired of working part-time as an actor and part-time as a medical secretary. With 17 years of running her own entertainment company, she began to feel burnt out so in 2016 she sold her house, placed everything in storage and took a year-long sabbatical. That sabbatical turned into an 18-month sabbatical of traveling the world and learning about the practice of mindfulness and meditation. Once she returned home she was unsure if she should continue her old business or try something new. “Being a creative entrepreneur, I took another jump. Combining my years of traveling with the desire to help people journey in Mindfulness, I launched MG Travel Coach. Though I have jumped a few times, the challenge is to have a beginner’s mind. Dropping my expectations based on past success and preconceived ideas, seeing things with an open mind, fresh eyes, just like a beginner.” We’re happy to hear Monique has found her true passion in life and want to extend our warmest wishes to her as she continues on this new path. Do you have a jump to share? We want to hear it! On the podcast… This week's podcast guest is an old friend of Mike Lewis and much like Mike has always had that little voice in the back of his head urging him to follow his passion. Alex Korchinski jumped from product manager to writer because he kept dreaming of finishing his own book while he should’ve been working. From CEO of Brass Check, where he led marketing campaigns for multiple #1 bestsellers, including books by Tim Ferriss and Robert Greene, to working as Senior Product Manager at Scribd, Alex's career has centered around the book world, and one day he decided to make the jump to write his own. He is currently writing his first book, which is a humorous memoir about his twenties. It chronicles fifteen personal experiments, like living a no-waste lifestyle, going on 30 dates in 30 days, and letting his friends control his daily routine. Tune in now to hear more of Alex’s journey. In the news… Wondering what the New Year has in store for the workplace? Forbes shares their 19 Workplace Predictions for 2019 (Forbes).
